The Navigation Pane & User Functions
My Dashboard
Once logged in, Community Access and Full Access Accounts are redirected to the "My Dashboard" screen. The "My Dashboard" screen is used to navigate the functions available to the higher access tiers on the ODC. Basic Access users do not have access to the "My Dashboard" view or functions.
Two ways to get back to your Dashboard when exploring the ODC:
go to "MY ACCOUNT" and click "Dashboard"
click the ODC logo at the top of the screen to go back to the home page, then click the "Dashboard" button found in the blue "Welcome to the ODC" banner
My Data
The ability to upload, share, and publish datasets is restricted to Full Access users. Community Access users will see these restricted functions in the navigation pane on the left side, but they will be greyed out.
The "My Data" functions are described in detail in various How To Guides.
My Labs
Joining or registering a new Verified Laboratory can also be completed through the "Register/Join a Lab" function in the navigation pane.
Full Access users will always see the Lab Space they are operating in listed under "Current Lab Space" - this is important for users that are part of multiple Lab Spaces as datasets must be affiliated with a Lab Space, and this affiliation cannot be changed after upload. The "Switch Lab" function allows users who are part of multiple Lab Spaces to quickly and easily change their Lab Space by simply scrolling over "Switch Lab" and clicking the name of a different Lab Space.
Commons
The Commons represents the data accessible to users on the ODC. "Published Datasets" is a quick link to the list of Public Datasets page.
"Commons Data" is unique to every user - think of it as your own personal data feed. When a user clicks "Commons Data" the ODC checks the user's Account Type, affiliated Lab Space(s), and Lab User Role(s) - it then uses this information to curate a list of every dataset available to the user across all Data Spaces.

Explore Public Data
All user Account Types can access, view, and download data found in the Public Space. Once logged in, Public Data can be accessed directly from the home page by clicking the "Explore public data" button.
The first page displayed after logging into the ODC varies by Account Type:
Basic Access: ODC home page
Community Access: "My Dashboard" - limited functionality
Full Access: "My Dashboard" - full functionality
The list of Public Datasets page lists all of the published datasets along with basic descriptive metadata. Click the dataset title or DOI to access the dataset's page to view additional metadata or download the available data package.
To return to the home page at any time, click the ODC logo at the top of your screen
Download Data Files
Three icons appear in the top right of every dataset page:
Click the "Full Data Package" icon to download a zip file containing the full data package (data file, data dictionary, and supplementary files
Click the "Data Dictionary" icon to download the data dictionary csv file
Click the "Supplementary Files" icon to download a zip file containing any supplementary files (methodology, additional data csv files, etc.) - supplementary files are optional and may not be available for every dataset
If the dataset download icons appear in grey and can't be clicked - you are not logged in!
