Create an Account

Follow these steps to create an account

Creating an account is the first step to downloading or uploading data on the ODC. Users can create an account from the homepages of odc-sci.org or odc-tbi.org - if you are a member of both research communities, you will need to create an account on each site.

STEP 1: Go to the ODC homepage

Open odc-sci.org or odc-tbi.org in your internet browser

STEP 2: Select Account Tier

On the home page, select the account tier you would like to create and click on its prompt

• Tier 1: Basic Access User = click "Get Started"

• Tier 2: Community Access User = click "Join Community"

• Tier 3: Full Access User = click "Join Lab"

Clicking the prompt will open a new tab in your browser where you will enter your information

STEP 3: Enter Your Details

Enter the requested information into the fields provided, then read and agree to the ODC-SCI/ODC-TBI Terms & Conditions, ODC-SCI/ODC-TBI Data Use Agreement, SciCrunch Terms & Conditions, and SciCrunch Privacy Policy. Once complete, click the green "Register" button

Register with your institutional email to streamline the approval process when requesting authorization for higher account tiers

When creating a Tier 2: Community Access User/Tier 3: Full Access User account an additional field "Lab Website" is included on the registration page. While this field is not marked as required, be sure to fill it out as it helps the ODC Community Moderators to approve or reject your request to join the community and/or create a new lab

Don't have an ORCID iD or can't remember it? That's okay - you can link your ORCID iD to your ODC account at any time by updating your user profile

STEP 4: Verify Your Email

Once steps 1-3 are completed, your page will show the following message - this means your account is pending

You will receive an email from SciCrunch asking you to verify your email. Click the link in the email to complete the process - this will open a window displaying the ODC and the following message:

Congratulations, you are now a Basic Access User - you are ready to login and explore Public Data!
