New to the ODC? Here's a quick overview of how to get started. Pages containing step-by-step tutorials can be found in the left sidebar and are linked throughout this summary.

How to Access the ODCs

By design, the functions and appearance of the user interface are the same on odc-sci.orgarrow-up-right and odc-tbi.orgarrow-up-right. The tutorials found in this section are applicable to users of both ODCs.

1

Determine what type of user access you need

Create your user account

Users can create an account from the homepages of odc-sci.orgarrow-up-right or odc-tbi.orgarrow-up-right - click the prompts "Get Started" (Tier 1 - Basic Access), "Join Community" (Tier 2 - Community Access), or "Join Lab" (Tier 3 - Full Access) to get started. If you are a member of both research communities, you will need to create an account on each site.

3

Enter your email address and password into the login screen.

If you selected the Full Access option when creating your account, you will need to join an existing Verified Laboratory's Lab Space or register to create a new Lab Space to unlock your ability to upload, share, and publish datasets.

Congrats! You are now ready to use the ODC!

5

Successfully logging in takes you to your dashboard - this is your personal home page on the ODC. Here you will find links to: user functions, the Lab Spaces you've joined, the datasets you've uploaded, the Public Space (to view/download published data), and "Commons Data" - a unique feature that evaluates your Account Type, Lab Space membership(s), and Lab Space User Level(s) to create a curated feed of all datasets accessible to you.
