# Adding an experimental protocol to a dataset

There are two ways to add an experimental protocol to your dataset.

1\) Upload a text file describing your methodology

2\) Add a link to a published protocol. We highly recommend using Protocols.io to share your protocols, but there are other platforms as well.

## **Uploading a methodology text file**

1. Select the data file from your dashboard to which you want to add a methods file
2. Expand the pull down menu under "Upload file" in the menu bar
3. Select "Methodology file"
4. Follow upload instructions
