Once a dataset has been created in the ODC, you can manage the dataset by:
Adding files: a complete ODC dataset requires a Data Dictionary File - this is uploaded to the dataset after it has been created (along with any methodology or supplementary files)
Adding metadata: a complete ODC dataset requires a Narrative Summary (Abstract) and Metadata - this is entered into the Metadata Editor (required for a DOI request and publication)
Adding or updating data and/or files: sometimes data and files need to be revised - these functions allow you to add new/revised data and/or files to an existing unpublished dataset
Sharing to the Lab Space: by default, a dataset lives in the data uploader's Personal Space - it can be moved to the associated Lab Space to make it accessible to other members of the Verified Laboratory
Requesting a DOI: trigger the Editorial Review process in preparation for publishing the dataset
Publishing the dataset: once a dataset has been approved in the Editorial Review process and assigned a DOI, the PI can publish the dataset to the Public Space, making the dataset accessible to the general public
